Street art has made the Ortica district a real open-air museum in which the history of Milan is illustrated from an unprecedented point of view. It is worth retracing its streets and seeing how the neighbourhood has changed while keeping its identity intact, which the murals have helped to strengthen. Each mural has a story to tell, like that of the women of the Resistance or the Martinitt, or even recalling characters like Jannacci who sang about “Banda dell’Ortica”.
